A Chi-Town ISS Peacekeeper was placed on paid administrative leave after he shot an official of the Chi-Town Medical Department who pulled a gun on him, officials said.
An ISS Office spokesman said that veteran Peacekeeper and ISS team member Michael Fitzpatrick, who was unharmed in the incident, seemed to have acted properly.
“All preliminary evidence indicates that this was a justified shooting”, said Sgt. Paul Hellis.
The incident happened around night as Fitzpatrick investigated a report on a disturbance on level 22.
“We got a notice of a disturbance, going in and out of shops, trying to hit citizens,” Hellis said. “When the Peacekeeper arrived, the official took off running into an abandoned shop.”
Fitzpatrick confronted the man, later identified as Dr. David Moffit, 39. Hellis said that Moffit refused to respond to the Peacekeeper and refused to take his hands out of his coat pockets when ordered to do so. Moffit's actions heightened Fitzpatrick’s state of alert.
“There is a reason why that person is running from you”, he said. “Not only did Moffit run from the peacekeeper, but he was also trying to hide something in his pockets.

The announcement is good news to Mercenary companies, who have speculated for months about the market's future.

Free Quebec Air Guard will soon be leaving the No Fly Zone area just a month after establishing air superiority. The Free Quebec Air Guard branch of the military is now officially in the process of eliminating its presence in the area.
Free Quebec took over the No Fly Zone area two months ago, when CS Army Forces advanced towards Free Quebec borders. But it wasn’t for another month before Free Quebec claimed air superiority over the Coalition States.
Now, another situation is underway. Soldiers were notified this month that Free Quebec is moving out of the “Canzone Point” area entirely. Glitter Boy and Violator Platoons have been ordered to make encampments in the Zones area till the Air Guard moves out.
Radio Free Quebec (RFQ) said homesteaders in the area should worry and relocate to a different place. Though the situation is far from bleak. RFQ said villages in the area are in grave danger of being destroyed by the encroaching Coalition Army.

Wisconsin – Mystic Knight raiders assaulted Cyber-Knight posts last month in Easton refugee camp, killing a Cyber-Knight, in retaliation for ambush attacks that wounded 3 Mystic knights and 30 other allies.
More than 25 Rift Grenades exploded within seconds of each other, sending blue beams into the air over Easton. The Grenades slammed into two Cyber-Knight posts, one in the west and one in the east of the camp, the Cyber-Knights said.

Tuesday. We moved out early to within a few miles of Rivera and drew up in line for battle -- our advance moved on -- and the Platoon supported -- met little resistance in taking the City -- Took 8 prisoners. Dismembered all of them.
The Platoon halted close to the City -- We got some eatables -- The people were ecstatic to see our troops driving out and following up the “D-Bee’s.” They did all in their power for us -- The Tolkeenites had acted awful meanly -- Took everything like hats, boots, shoes, clothing, ammo, rifles & vehicles -- The streets and fence corners were strewn with their discarded old ones.

At that point Moffit pulled a C-5 Pump Pistol from his coat and pointed it at Fitzpatrick, according to Hellis.
Fitzpatrick took cover behind a table, drew his own weapon and fired twice. He hit Moffit once in the torso from about a patrol car's length away, said Hellis.
Inspectors found that Moffit’s C-5 had a fully loaded magazine but it wasn’t immediately known if a round was chambered or if Moffit fired at the Peacekeeper.
The Chi-Town Department of ISS is conducting the investigation.
Hellis said that General Thomas Lopez talked to Fitzpatrick after the incident.
“The General responded out here but Fitzpatrick is fine,” Hellis said.
Moffit was airlifted to the Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition.
Hellis said that Fitzpatrick was placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of the investigation.
But others familiar with the territory weren’t as sure that people had anything to worry about. A former FQ Soldier said that the Coalition has made no showing in the said area and that this is likely a ploy by the FQ Government to remove undesirables from the area. For the time being the local villages are hiring Mercenary groups to help ward off any potential threats, be they real or imaginary.
